Mariah Carey's Album ‘Elusive Chanteuse’ May Become NEW Debut LOW!

Mariah Carey is back with New Music! Despite a very long and often-delayed release of her latest effort Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse is the singers fourteenth studio album and indeed it has arrived in stores & available on iTunes today!  'Elusive' which may serve as a fitting title for the album that has seen a many of false "first singles", "teasers", pushed back release dates and album title changes (formerly The Art of Letting Go).  The project may have now be a product of it's own internally inconsistent and evasive vibe. According to Chart News, Carey's Elusive Chanteuse is set to only move between 65-70k units within the first week of it's release and effectively will become Mariah's LOWEST debut album EVER!

US chart preview -debuts: 65-70k | 50-55k | 17-20k.

This is surely be a major disappointment not only to the singer's camp but also to her fans and potentially 'new buying public' whom may have been eager to hear some updated sound with current music from Carey. Instead of continuing the 'one-off singles' routine Mariah's displayed for the past year + since her American Idol judging stint ended it was now time to face not only the music itself but also get an update on her quarterly "Missing Fans" report!

Elusive Chanteuse is definitely experiencing an expected but then unexpected turn of events and with a not so pleasing start of a new era for the singer.  Carey whom has primarily only been known to pull in massive hit record sales as well as always debut with top figures is not having her usual Highs - this time something's changed.   In the past Carey has always been able to retain her fan base and pull in the sales for random Christmas albums or duet collaborations (Justin Bieber, John Legend & Tony Bennett). What's this problem this time around? What's interesting is that based Mariah's lackluster sales projections for the Elusive Chanteuse album compared to her past releases it may seem that the singer may have some late night strategic sessions to commence promptly.

Past Releases:
Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel  (2009) - 168,000 (#3 Billboard 200 debut)
E=MC2 (2008)  - 463,000 (#1 Billboard 200 debut)
The Emancipation of Mimi (2005) - 404,000 (#1 Billboard 200 debut)

Despite today's not-so-good news I've included a few of my favorite tracks from the album below in hopes to add to Mariah's first week unit shift!   Check them out and decide if YOU will be hitting your local record store or iTunes for Mariah's Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse!
